What can I expect?
You will be placed on a 4 week paid work programme where you will gain knowledge of employment with our client Cranswick Gourmet Sausages and their award-winning food manufacturing site.
You will learn all the job roles and duties within the sausage department, learning how the raw product develops from farm to fork.
You will be expected to work in a variety of roles within the department from packing, tagging, stacking, labelling and despatch.
Some of this role will also be classroom based, working with the training team you will gain basic maths and English, work experience, health and safety awareness, manual handling, food safety.
You will have the full support from the training team throughout this programme.
If you show commitment, good attendance and good time keeping after the 4-week work placement you will qualify for the Level 2 manufacturing apprenticeship programme and transfer over to Cranswick gourmet sausages to start a fantastic career within the food sector.
Hours of work
06.00am to 12.00pm or 12.00pm to 18.00pm (depending on your rota).
You will work two days per week – Monday and Tuesday or Wednesday and Thursday. (depending on your rota).
You will do 12 hours work experience and 4 hours of training per week totalling 16 hours per week.
You will be required to follow a production rota which will involve rotating in various jobs roles and sections through the manufacturing facility.
18 to 24-year-old = £8.20 per hour
25 years and over = £8.72 per hour
You will be paid for the work placement weekly by arears each Friday by Byrom Food Solutions LTD
Please note we have no control of when the funds will hit your account on the Friday (different banks differ when they release your funds).
Wage Slips will be emailed using the email address provided at registration.
Pay slips will be sent on a Tuesday evening, our first email may go into your spam so please check your spam and junk folders.
Should you change any details you must give at least a weeks’ notice to allow administration.
